Social Media Tips

Once you learn a few tricks, creating content for social media or other advertising needs can be simple and easy. Of course we are always here to help you, but it's great to be able to advertise on your own.

On this page, you will find some easy tips to create a FB page and content to make posts personal for your business.

1. CREATE A BUSINESS FACEBOOK PAGE
It's important to create a Facebook page specifically for your business. Here are steps below to create the page. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Brita for help:

     1. From the Pages section, click Create new Page.
     2. Add your Page name and category.
     3. Add your Page’s bio and click Create.
     4. (Optional) Add information, such as Contact, Location and Hours, and click Next.
     5. (Optional) Add profile and cover photos, and edit the action button, and click Next.
     6. (Optional) Invite friends to connect with your Page, and click Next.
     7. Click Done.

2. CANVA.COM - CREATE A FREE ACCOUNT
Create a free account on canva.com, this program has many free templates that you can modify easily with your text and pictures. Once you create your free account, you have access to many free templates. In the video below you will see how to use Canva to add in photos and text and download the file.

1. Open Canva

2. Choose a template

3. Add Photos and change text

4. You can add more text or photos with the menu on the left side

5. Rename the file in the upper right corner

6. Save to a folder so it's easy to find

7. Download File

3. FACEBOOK - SCHEDULE POSTS
After you create the graphics you want to add to social media, then you can go to Facebook Planner to setup a month of posts so you don't have to upload daily. You can connect Facebook and Instagram to each other so when you schedule the posts for one, they will post on the other site as well.

If you have an Instagram account, make sure and link it to your Facebook page and you can make sure the posts are scheduled to run on both social media platforms.

Don't forget to add hashtags to your posts, here are some examples to use but also search for more that are relevant for you:

1. Open your Facebook Business Page

2. Click on Meta Business Suite

3. Choose planner

4. Decide what date and time you want to post

5. Schedule multiple posts and get them in the planner for the month

4. CONTENT CALENDAR
There are many ways to plan your content for each month. Here is a sample to help you plan it out. It's important to post consistently at least 3 times a week. Then from there, you can post reels to reach a bigger audience and post to your stories to get seen by your followers. There is no right or wrong way to do this, just do what feels comfortable to you. The more you post, the easier it gets.
